This is a date that will live on in infamy, for it is the day that u/illmurray logged onto Reddit and posted what is hands-down the funniest description of a WWE house show I have ever read. Everything under the bar is their own words. I just wanted to store this on my own site for posterity, just so it’d have another archival spot. The original Reddit thread is here.
It’s truly fascinating to look at this story and realize how much of the world of wrestling has changed. Like, yeah, as of this writing, 2013 is almost ten years ago, but for a company that stagnated hard for a long time it’s still somewhat shocking. AEW exists now. Xavier Woods is part of one of the greatest trios of all time and not entering to “Everybody Get Funky”. CM Punk retired for years shortly after this, finally coming back to wrestling in 2021 in a completely different company. Luke Harper, better known as Brodie Lee, also went to AEW before his tragic and untimely passing. Anyway, this is a hilarious story and a fascinating time capsule and I never want to see it gone. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
