ClickHole Videos
Year: 2014
Synopsis: Definitely real viral videos about subjects that matter.
EMN Notes: During the height of the viral video and clickbait craze (which…well, still hasn’t slowed down), The Onion started a sister site dedicated to lampooning that type of manufactured algorithmic content. It’s still hilarious. These are great interstitials because they’re often so strange and disconnected and absurd yet deadpan. One funny story is that one of the videos is Big Bang Theory with added laugh tracks after every sentence, but with the sound off it just seems like a clip from a normal episode, leading to a very confused Mandy and I asking each other during work how the hell a Big Bang Theory episode got on the channel without us noticing. That’s worth these additions alone, I think.
Comedy Central Presents: Mitch Hedberg
Year: 1999
Synopsis: Stoner comedian Mitch Hedberg’s famous televised special where he dropped one-liner after one-liner.

Synopsis: Eddie Izzard’s classic standup covering, in Letterboxd’s words, “pagan and Christian religions, the building of Stonehenge, the birth of the Church of England and of Western empires, and the need for a European dream”.
George Carlin: Jammin’ In New York
Year: 1992
Synopsis: George Carlin’s personal favorite special, and one of his most famously biting.
George Carlin: It’s Bad For Ya
Year: 2008
Synopsis: George Carlin’s final live HBO special, covering drugs, alcohol, and other topics both poignant and shocking.
Homestar Runner
Year: 2000
Synopsis: The cartoony denizens of Free Country, USA, get into all kinds of wacky adventures. And sometimes they check their email.
EMN Notes: Homestar Runner is such a nostalgic thing for us both, but the reason they’re in the interstitials section on the comedy channel is because they make for such great, easy space-fillers between longer sitcom episodes and comedy movies. They’re breezy, they’re fun, and they’re at least worth a smile. We plan on expanding our interstitials list hard as there’s a small concern that lack of variety will make the humor wear thin, but for what it’s worth Homestar is still funny to me.
John Mulaney: The Comeback Kid
Year: 2015
Synopsis: John Mulaney’s first special. This is the one where the story about ordering a single black coffee at McDonalds comes from!
John Mulaney: Kid Gorgeous At Radio City

Synopsis: John Mulaney’s second special, and the one where almost every other one of his famous bits is from.
Mickey Mouse

Sinbad: Make Me Wanna Holla

Synopsis: A more modern Sinbad special, featuring clean comedy and a healthy distaste for swearing.
The Onion
Year: Various
