A truly absurd number of movies, a truly absurdly-long episode, and an absurdly good year for movies! Could 2026 be just as good, if not better? Erin and Mandy sit down and talk about their favorite first-time watches of the year. Queer epics, works of art that everyone has seen but us, and the original Korean version of a movie that recently received a remake are among the topics of discussion – with apologies to any Yorgos fans listening in. We also give a shoutout to John Candy and Uncle Buck, lament the state of physical distribution as usual, and deliver another great scoop from our friend in Japan Mr. Robotto about why Takashi Miike’s Gozu still has no Blu-Ray release, even in Japan! It’s a wild ride through a great year for cinema, and we cover all kind of genres, differ wildly on how high we’d place certain movies, and still agree on which first-time watch is number one!
Note: Due to changes in the recording setup, there are audio issues present in this episode. These will be resolved by next episode.
